Rebranding Myself
From "Illustration and Graphic Design by Derrick Utz" to "Dutzworks"...Yeah, a whole lot easier to say, huh?!!
Well, obviously this is the new site and I may still make one or two changes over the next few weeks this is how it will look for a good while. I have been able to add it an active Facebook widget onto the page and new links that jump out to other locations like my Linked In professional networking page and my Google+ page. I am also looking at adding in a Behance link when I have my page set up there.
All of this is being done to smooth out my digital presence and to make it easier and more streamlined to update my different profiles when I have new work. This will also help me have things set up for when I start the Kickstarter for "The Tiny Titan" at the beginning of 2014! More on that below

I have currently been working on the art and story for the my first children's book. So far the line work and basic flatting has been finished for all of the 25 page's worth of art. Now I am researching different digital painting styles while I decide the look and feel of the book's colors. I come from an illustration background so color work has many new trials for me but I am excited still to see what I can pull off!
When finished, I will be opening up a Kickstarter (or similar crowd funding) page to help with the printing cost of getting copies of the book for giveaways/charities to be announced soon. I am excited about getting the books into the hands of kids for both the giveaways and for you! Please stay in touch and watch this magic happen!

Bots Amusement Park
Temporary back burner
I am still planning on producing Bots Amusement Park but due to the class I was auditing and the project created for it, The Tiny Titan, I am shelving Bots while I finish production and fulfill the Kickstarter. If the Kickstarter is a success I will be able to dedicate more time and energy to the production and quality work of what I hope is an amazing and engrossing story and work of art in "Bots." I am truly excited about this story and have only had to set it aside for scheduling reasons. I am still trying to find my clone...I am hoping he can help me finish more work more quickly! Ha Ha!
